Kiteworks asked Humind Creatives to develop the storyboard for a video explaining how federal agencies can exchange sensitive information without losing visibility or control. The story needed to address a real operational tension: Federal agencies must collaborate across departments, contractors, and mission partners while meeting strict zero trust and compliance requirements. The objective was to turn that complex subject into a focused visual narrative that federal decision-makers could understand within 90 seconds.
THE CHALLENGE
Zero trust data exchange involves more than secure file sharing. The script brought together specialized terminology, federal mandates, security frameworks, encryption standards, data governance, and audit requirements. Concepts such as OMB M-22-09, the CISA Zero Trust Maturity Model, FedRAMP, FIPS 140-3, IL5, and IRAP needed to be represented accurately without making the video feel overly technical.
The challenge was to understand how these requirements connect and then translate them into visuals that felt clear, relevant, and easy to follow. Abstract ideas such as continuous verification, policy enforcement, data visibility, and audit readiness needed to become recognizable scenes rather than layers of technical explanation. Every frame also had to support the script, remain readable at video speed, and stay consistent with Kiteworks’ updated visual identity.
THE PROCESS
The process began by breaking each timeframe into its designated script and description. Kiteworks team provided its assets and the copy to use, so basically, researching the process of how each process works are essentials before you translate the script into visuals.
From there, Humind Creatives explored visual metaphors for data movement, access, protection, and oversight. Technical details were simplified into focused compositions, while important terms remained visible where they supported understanding. The storyboard also carried Kiteworks’ renewed brand language into motion through its typography, color system, graphic elements, transitions, and visual hierarchy. Each frame was planned with pacing and animation in mind, giving the production team a practical guide for how the story should move as well as how it should look.
THE RESULT
The completed video helps viewers understand how Kiteworks applies zero trust principles directly to sensitive data while supporting the speed and collaboration federal missions require. It also demonstrates how the refreshed Kiteworks identity can communicate complex cybersecurity subjects with greater clarity and consistency in motion. The video was published on the Kiteworks website and YouTube, extending the story into a reusable digital asset for federal audiences, sales conversations, and product communication.
